Abraham’s Sacrifice Lyrics

1. God spoke these words to Father Abraham

Take thou thy son, thy only son Isaac

Whom thou lovest and get him unto me.

2. And Abraham rose up with some young men.

He said to them, “Abide here, while I pray,

I’ll go younder and offer burnt offering.”

3. And Isaac said, “Where’s lamb for burnt offering?

My son, “God will provide Himself a lamb

To the offering, and the holy offering”.

4. And they came to the place where God has spake,

And an Angel called him out of heaven,

“Lay not thy hand upon thy holy child”.

5. God then praised Abraham for his belief

Lifting up eyes, Abraham saw a ram

For the offering instead of the son Isaac.

6. The holy place was then called Lord Provides

Where God made a covenant with Abraham

“For behold, your seed shall increase”.

7. Glory be to Father, Son, Holy Ghost,

As it was, so it shall ever be Amen.
