O ever radiant Virgin Lyrics

Antiphon: O ever radiant Virgin

O Mother of our Lord, we give you praise.

1. The winter now is past, the rains have gone away,

Arise, my love bride, from Lebanon, and come.

2. Now you are beautiful my love, now you are fair,

Among all women as a lily’mid the thorns.

3. My love belongs to men and I belong to him;

He brings his flocks to graze among theflowered fields.

4. You are a fountain sealed, my love, a garden closed,

A well of water flowing fresh down the hills.

5. As radiant dawn breaks through the darkness of the night,

As moon so fair, your beauty awes the hearts of men.

6. Who is this coming from the desert like the cloud,

A fragrant mist imbued with incense and with myrrh.

7. In his garden beds of spice, my love has come,

To gather lilies and to pasture there his flock.

8. For love the King has led you to his dwelling place;

O let us follow, we will hasten in your steps.

9. To you. O Lord, be glory and eternal joy,

And may all ages sing your blessed mother’s praise.
